Heavy metal from Oslo, Norway
Echoes of Journeys Past out on Dying Victims Productions
Flight emerged from Oslo and Kolbotn, Norway in the fall of 2012, forged in reverence for an era when heavy rock and metal were still the same breath. Drawing from the classic sounds of the late '70s and early '80s — Judas Priest, Wishbone Ash, Camel, Winterhawk — and rooted firmly in the NWOBHM tradition, Flight set out to capture something that felt ancient and alive at the same time.
Their self-titled debut (2015) laid the foundation: raw, direct, and unadorned. With A Leap Through Matter (2018), the band expanded their universe, weaving science fiction themes through more complex arrangements and adventurous songwriting while keeping the heavy rock spirit intact. Echoes of Journeys Past (2023) marked another turn — deeper, more mythical in character, exploring progressive textures and cosmic imagery across seven tracks that feel like a journey through time and space.
Three albums in, Flight remain committed to a sound that owes nothing to trends and everything to the music they love.
Repress of the older albums will be available from Dying Victims before the winter.
